Port Blair, Jan 19: One member of Onge Tribe, (name withheld as per standard COVID-19 guidelines) has been tested mild positive after a RT-PCR test was carried on him, as a precaution, before sending him back to Onge Settlement area of Little Andaman.
As per detail, the 70 year old member of Onge Tribe, who is paralyzed, was sent to Little Andaman on 13 January 2021 from Port Blair, with two other members of Onge Community.
Since then, he was in PHC R K Pur and before sending him back in Onge Settlement, when the RT-PCR tests were conducted on all three, two were found negative while one was detected mild positive, which is presently being considered as inconclusive result and hence once again his samples will be collected tomorrow for another RT-PCR test for confirmation.
