Port Blair, Jan 11: The former up-adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. R Alager Swami has demanded opening of Tourism in Baratang Island as it is done in most of the other tourist destinations of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. R Alager Swami today said that several unemployed youths and entrepreneurs who have taken load from banks for the fiber boats are suffering heavy loss due to suspension of tourism activities in Baratang Island. “Many others attached to the tourism industry are forced to do work of labourers or fishermen due to loss of employment,” he added.
Mr. R Alager Swami pointed out that tourism in almost all prominent Islands have been opened following all protocols of COVID-19 and on the same ground opening of Tourism in Baratang must also be considered.
