Port Blair, Jan 10: In order to strengthen the preparedness of various units of the Andaman & Nicobar Police department, a Mock Drill was conducted on 10/01/2021 in the morning hours. A scenario of ‘Collapsed Structure and people entrapped therein’ was simulated during the exercise in Junglighat Area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Aberdeen. All the units of Andaman & Nicobar Police involved responded promptly and carried out search and rescue operation as per the procedure while following the COVID-19 protocols. This exercise enhanced the coordination of various units of Andaman & Nicobar Police at the Disaster site.
Similar exercises with various simulated scenarios have been planned in the jurisdiction of other Police Stations in the coming weeks.
