Port Blair, Oct 08: Here is a good news for Islanders of Nicobar Districts. The Andaman Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation (ANIIDCO) is planning to open new petrol pumps in Kamorta, Katchal & Teressa Islands.
At present people of these remote but prominent islands are getting petrol through an private outlets. Getting fuel for vehicles, is an tiring and difficult task as often these outlets run dry due to delay in transportation of fuel by vessels.
Because of this people in all these three villages have been demanding for opening of full fledged petrol pumps in these Islands, since a long time.
“We are very happy and it’s a good news for Islanders. Work are almost completed and by November end these petrol pumps will start rendering the services,” Mr Mohd. Parvez told Andaman Sheekha.
