Port Blair, Jan 06: Two youths of R K Pur village of Little Andaman were arrested recently for stealing household items from a locked house of a teacher.
As per villagers the teacher was in Port Blair during Lockdown and for restriction ferry services, the teacher could not return to Little Andaman for a long time. When the teacher finally returned home, he found locks of his house are broken and household items worth nearly Rs. 60,000 stolen from the house.
On complaint lodged by the teachers, the police unit of Little Andaman acted swiftly and arrested two accused namely Mr. Rohit Das, 22 years and Mr. Bittu Gharami, 23 years in this case. Villagers of R K Pur have lauded Andaman and Nicobar Police for this swift action. Further details from Andaman and Nicobar Police are awaited.
