Port Blair, Nov 29: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has wished the Islanders on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Guru Nanak Jayanti marks the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak and it is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism. Guru Nanak Ji was also the founder of Sikhism.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi has appealed to the Islanders that this year due to COVID-19 pandemic we need to be very careful while celebrating any festival. The Islanders have lost a lot in terms of life and economy because of this dangerous global pandemic.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi has requested the Islanders to follow the two golden rules of wearing of face mask in public and maintaining at-least 6 feet social distancing at all times. He has also ensured the Islanders that the world is looking for a vaccine to combat COVID-19 and India under the leadership of its dynamic Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will ensure that all its citizens receive the best vaccines.
He further requested the Islanders to follow all protocols and rules as set forth by the Central Govt. and ensured the Islanders that the menace of COVID-19 pandemic will end soon and everyone will go back to live like normal times, very soon.
