Port Blair, Nov 25: Under instructions from Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Mr. Jyothirmay Bawali, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met the Director of Social Welfare, Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 23rd of November 2020 (Monday) at his office and discussed the issues being faced by the Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers because of non-payment of full wages from the last five months.
The Director of Social Welfare informed Mr. Jyothirmay Bawali that the wages that these workers are receiving is from the UT Fund and the Central Fund for payment of wages has not been received yet, once the funds from the Central Govt. is received the payment with all arrears will be paid to the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers.
Mr. Jyothirmay Bawali, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands requested the Director of Social Welfare to expedite the process so that the Anganwadi Workers get their arrears as soon as possible.
