Port Blair, Nov 19: Continuing its strike on the menace of drug in the Island, PS Central Crime Station has apprehended a known drug peddler with 4.11 Kg of Ganja through a postman involved in delivering packages to fake addresses.
On 11/11/2020 information was received by Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station that one postman Profulla Roy will be delivering parcels of ganja to a resident of Bambooflat. Acting swiftly a raiding team was constituted by Dy. SP(CID) comprising of Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS CCS, SI T. Dilla Rao, ASI Vijay Shankar, Constable K. Rajendran, Raja Rao and Mohd. Imran. The team intercepted the postman handing over the parcel in question to a resident of Tapu Basti, Bambooflat.
The postman was also seen signing some papers after the delivery. On frisking and checking the packets contents it was found to contain 4.11 Kgs Ganja. The entire operation was conducted under supervision of Sh. Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) under the overall supervision of Sh. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP(CID).

The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
