Port Blair, Nov 16: The ongoing 67th All India Cooperative Week Celebration was being celebrated on 15th Nov, 2020 at the premises of A & N State Cooperative Union. Mr. P. G. Paul, General Secretary, A & N State Cooperative Union as the Chief Guest in presence of Representatives of various Apex and Primary Level Cooperatives
At the outset, Smti. Sumitra Devi, Cooperative Education Instructor (CEI), A&N State Cooperative Union welcomed the Chief Guest and other delegates to the 67th All India Coop. Week Celebration 2020.
Mr. P.G. Paul, General Secretary, A& N State Cooperative Union as the Chief Guest of the programme addressing on the topic “Cooperative Marketing, Consumer, Processing and Value Addition”. He informed that the Cooperative sectors plays an important role in India and A&N Islands to promote socio economic life style of Islanders, he also urged other Cooperative sectors like fisheries, PACS and other Cooperative institutions to come up with target based work to achieve overall development of these islands through the cooperatives.. He further added Under Agricultural Produce the Farming System, Mixed Farming, Plantation Crop, High Value Crops and Spices produce may start ups with innovative ideas.
Mr. Suresh Babu, Principal, RGCTC also spoke on the topic “Cooperative Marketing, Consumers, Processing and value addition”. He informed that there is a lot of scope for Agriculture and Fisheries sector in A&N Islands through Cooperatives we can reduce the dependency of the Middlemen. He also informed that the Agriculture and Fisheries Dept. has formulated lot of schemes for the development of Cooperatives.
While Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anant Rao, Vice Chairman, A&N State Cooperative Union also spoke on the topic “Cooperative Marketing, Consumers, Processing and value addition. He has highlighted the success and achievement of the cooperative movement in A&N Islands.
The programme ended with the vote of thank proposed by Smti. Samima Begum, Instructor, A &N State Coop. Union.
