Port Blair, Nov 13: Passengers travelling to North and Middle Andaman go through a lot of hassle at Ferrargunj for Rapid Antigen Test.
Other than standing in three different lines for one single test the main problem is that there is no shed for public, who have to stand in queue for name entry, second queue to fill medical forms and also one more queue for Rapid Antigen Test at Ferrargunj Panchayat and Ferrargunj, Forest Check Post.
Heavy rain or scorching heat, ATR passengers have to stand in these queues for the Rapid Antigen Test, even minor children are also forced to stand in atleast one queue.
One can imagine the kind of inconvenience faced by passengers of North Andaman after getting completely drenched in rain at Ferrargunj for nearly one hour for the RAT.
Not only passengers, the revenue staffs working at Ferrargunj Panchayat Bhawan for several hours, are also facing similar problems. As the Panchayat do not allow them to work from any room, they are forced to work from the lawn area near the staircase. During sunny days it becomes too difficult to public and these staffs to even stand in outside the building.
Considering this now many people are requesting the DC, South Andaman to order temporary sheds at Ferrargunj Panchayat Bhavan and also at Ferrargunj Forest Checkpost for the convenience of hundreds of daily commuters of Andaman Trunk Road.
