Port Blair, Sep 04: The State President, Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha, Mr K. Paramasivam has requested the PCCF to fill the post of Assistant Labour Welfare Commissioner within this financial year so that the welfare of the workers is safeguarded.
In a letter addressed to the PCCF, Mr Paramasivam stated that this post is lying vacant from last 10 years in Chatham Saw mill, as posting of LWC in industrial establishment is mandatory as per Factories Act 1948.
