Port Blair, Nov 06: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the leadership of Mr. N.K Udhaya Kumar, President, BJYM, A & N Islands and under overall leadership of Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands organised a peaceful protest in front of BJP Headquarters, Port Blair against the recent arrest of Mr. Arnab Goswami, Editor of Republic TV by the Maharastra Police.
To protest against the attack on the free press, the Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha Organised the protest where slogans were shouted and the karyakartas protested against the Maharastra Govt. and called for releasing Mr. Arnab Goswami.
“Bharatiya Janata Party has been protesting against the arrest since the time the news of the arrest spread and the karyakartas of the Bahratiya Janata Party has been organising such protests throughout the country in support of the journalist. Bahratiya Janata Party believes in the freedom of the press and is completely against the draconian behaviour as displayed by the Maharastra Govt. The members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and the State Unit of BJP call upon the Maharastra Govt. to set Mr. Arnab Goswami free or it will continue its protests in the Islands along with the rest of the country for a free press,” a release from BJYM said here today.
