Port Blair, Nov 04: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman for rehabilitation of employees (fire victims) of CCS and also for awarding adequate compensation to them.
Mr.Ajoy Bairagi informed the authorities that on 3rd of November a major fire accident was reported from one of the branch buildings of the Consumers Cooperative Stores Limited located at Bhatu Basti.
He further mentioned that the Genera Manager of CCS has informed him that the fire was massive and the entire first floor of the building was gutted and huge financial loss of Rs. 20,00,000/- was incurred. Mr. Ajoy Bairagi also informed that he visited the site of the fire himself and witnessed the fire fighters trying to control the enormous flames. He further mentioned that four employees of the CCS were also residing in the same building with their families, who are now homeless and helpless.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi requested for rehabilitation and adequate compensation to the employees of CCS, who were victims of the fire accident. He further requested the authorities to help the Consumers Co-operative Stores financially so that they can rebuild their institution in a proper manner.
