Port Blair, Nov 02: The AATO has requested for the exemption of insurance for tourist vehicles.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration, Mr. Vinod, president AATO said that, there are the many tourism stakeholders alongwith the thousands of Travel Agents and Tourist cab owners who are pinning their hopes on the reopening of tourism industry. For the renewal of their annual Tourist permit, they need to submit renewed insurance papers which are hefty to be afforded amidst the pandemic with no business in the last 10 months.
Therefore, on behalf of the several thousands of tourist cab owners and Travel Agents, Mr Vinod requested the administration for one time exemption from submission of insurance documents be granted to all tourist vehicles at the time of their Permit Renewal.
