Port Blair, Nov 01: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Organised a Cyber Security awareness camp at Panchayat Community hall, Wandoor on 31st October, 2020 at South Andaman.
The programme was inaugurated by SI, Gracefield, In-charge Police Station, Humfrigunj, A& N Police, SI, K P Abdul Aziz,In-charge, CCTNS, CID Unit, SI, Ashok Baghel, In-charge Cyber Cell & PC Sangeeta Mazumder, Cyber Cell, The programme was also attended by Senior staffs of Bank and a large gathering of local residents of the area and customers of the Bank.
Welcoming the delegates Mr. Rajan Kunju, DGM, A&NStCB has sparkle the occasion of Police Flag Day for their supreme sacrifice just to protect us from the all harms, troubles and causes. He further informed that the Bank created an awareness programme through Financial Literacy Programme (FLCs) and village level programme for the villagers and customer regarding the safety of the customer etc and we chalk out week long programme especially on the topic of “Cyber Security”. He further informed that the today’s world technologies play a vital role in the life of the common people and booking of LPG cylinders also made easy with OTP based. He further emphasized on all the frauds made by the people and urged the gathering to be more cautious and protective.
SI, SI, Gracefield, In-charge Police Station, Humfrigunj, A& N Police, in her keynote address urged all the general public and customer be aware and vigilant about the Cyber Crime in these Islands. She also emphasized on use of ATM Cards and requested the gathering that to be more precautious an additional precaution to be use at all the times and urged all the villagers and customers if issues they can reach us at any time.
Mr. Abdul Aziz, In-charge, CCTNS, CID Unit, A& N Police also urged all the gathering and emphasized on use of social media while making share of any content should be more vigilant and careful. By addressing the gathering he also stressed on use of ATM card at ATMs and POS machine at Shops, Malls and Shopping Complex and while using such gadgets to be more careful that any device is attached to machine because there is a chances for clone your card unless ATM pin may be change at alternative months for better safety and security purpose. He also requested to the customer that while entering the secret pin of ATM hide with your hand so that no one can see the pin of your ATM card. The Govt. Of India has introduced a toll free SOS no.112 for all emergency purpose and any problem related to Cyber security they can call to 03192-230668.
Mr. S.I. Ashok Baghel, In-charge Cyber Cell A & N Police has informed that we have to be more precautious and alert while transacting the online purchase in which OTP number and CVV number should be maintain carefully. In this regard Ministry has also initiated some websites for complain and queries. He also emphasized on social networking sites or Apps, to be secure and safe the individuals must not share any personal information’s to the unknown. Now a day a lot of complains are raising by usage of whatsapp, facebook and e-SIM etc,. Since some people try to use unauthorized links in which malpractice may be occurred. At the last he urged all the people to be safe, secure and more vigilant at all the times.
PC, Sangeeta Mazumder staff of Cyber Cell also spoke on the occasion and high lightened on the cyber security programme and shared many key issues with the gathering.
