Port Blair, Oct 04: The Spokesperson, Bhartiya Janta Party, Mr Anil Kumar Tiwary today demanded the Port Blair Municipal Council to roll back the enhanced domestic water tariff or increase it to a bare minimum.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary and the Chairman PBMC, Mr Tiwari said that the decision to hike domestic water tariff by 4 times the present tariff (from Rs. 25/- per month to Rs. 100/- per month) the common man will find it very difficult.
“As everyone is well aware that there is increase in price of everything it will become a cruel joke if a common man will have to pay more money even for drinking water,” Mr Tiwari added.
