
Port Blair, Oct. 29: In a small event organised by the NGO, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi yesterday, the Police personnel deputed under South Andaman District were felicitated for their exemplary service to the citizens especially during the Lockdown period following the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Mr. C.Manoj, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Head Quarters graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District, Mr. Narra Chaitanya, IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr. Kalaivanan, IPS, ASP Bambooflat and Mr. Ajay Rai, DANIPS, DSP Security/Traffic were the guests of honour.
The programme commenced with Mr. Mandeep Grewal, President, PBGKR handing over a token of appreciation to the Andaman & Nicobar Police team for tirelessly working for the betterment of the society and to provide the islanders with the best support possible. He said, “We would serve the Islanders whenever needed with the best resources available. There are many more unsung heroes who are still on ground, working day and night to serve and fight against the pandemic. The PBGKR salutes them for their selfless service”, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. C. Manoj, IPS thanked PBGKR for their contribution to the society during the lockdown by providing 75,000+ meals and distributing 1200+ ration kits to the people across the South Andaman area.
