Port Blair, Oct 13: The tireless efforts of Mr. Mohan Kumar, DANICS, Chief Executive officer of Zilla Parishad, NMA, the ZP is now able to clear the pending liabilities and release blocked amount for execution of new works/ Projects under GIA Water sector.
In the year 2013 – 14 funds were released under GIA water sector for Zilla Parishad, NMA and many projects were sanctioned and works were undertaken keeping in view the larger interest of the public of the area under water sector.
In this row the last project of GIA water sector was sanctioned on 5/ 2018, but the project was not possible to execute because total fund was blocked for non completion of the project in time. Though fund in cash was available but utilization certificate could not be submitted as expenditure invited was very low compared to sanctioned project.
During summer season the whole North and Middle Andaman faces water scarcity, hence Mr. Mohan Kumar, CEO and Adhyaksh NMA intervened into the matter keeping in view the larger interest of the public of the region.
After the intervention of Mr. Mohan Kumar, CEO, Zilla Parishad, NMA with approval Adhyaksh ZP and standing committee many projects were cancelled which were not viable at this present conditions.
After cancellation of all those non-viable projects, on 9/2020, the blocked funds have been released for execution of new projects.
This positive approach of the CEO, ZP, NMA brought a new ray of hope amongst the public and PRI members of NMA region. As the positive attitude of the CEO, and Adhyaksh ZP, NMA, 3 new projects for Construction of Water Tanks have been started, one near community hall at Rest Camp ward no.03, under Zilla Parishad work an amount of Rs.11, 34,322/- and another two project at Sundergarh in Baratang and Diglipur region.
The PRI’s and public of the region highly appreciated the efforts of Mr. Mohan Kumar, CEO, ZP, NMA for his dedication for the people of NMA to release the blocked funds under GIS water sector and immediate initiatives to start the water sector project in Rest camp, Baratang and Diglipur area.
