Port Blair, Oct 12: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands expresses gratitude to the Prime Minister Mananiya Narendra Modi for launching the physical distribution of property cards under SWAMITVA YOJNA to one lakh beneficiaries from Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
Prime Minister on the occasion also announced that these property cards would be given to every rural household in the country over the next 3-4 years. The issuance of property card will pave the way for the villagers to use property as financial assets for taking loans and other financial benefits, it will also end disputes among the villagers over land ownership.
Mananiya Narendra Modi on the occasion also said that “ The scheme will help in strengthening the panchayati raj system or which efforts are being made for the past six years. It will make village management easier for gram panchayats on the lines of municipalities and municipal corporations.”
Further the distribution of the property cards were aligned with the birth anniversary of two great leaders, Jai Prakash Narayan and Nanaji Deshmukh.
SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) is a scheme launched by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India and it aims to address the challenges being faced because of the lack of data by creating a geospatial database of all rural properties. The rural inhabited properties are surveyed with the help of drones and latest survey methods.
