Rangat, Oct 04: Few areas in the Rangat region have no internet connection since last one week as a result of which the students of the area are struggling to attend their online classes.
“I am forced to remain awake till 03:00 AM for 3G network, to download my son’s homework,” said Mrs. Rani, a resident of Rangat.
As per reports, there are in total 02 BTS in the Rangat region, out of which one BTS is having some technical issues, which is the reason behind this problem.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted a senior officer of BSNL at Rangat, on the condition of anonymity the officer said that there is no problem with the Broadband, it is working fine, however, he said that one of the BTS has some technical issues and to rectify the problem a technician from Patna has already reached Port Blair.
“The technician is currently under 07 days isolation and once his isolation period comes to an end, he will visit Rangat to rectify the problem of the BTS,” said the senior officer of BSNL.
The residents also quizzed the BSNL authorities as to why the Mobile connection goes off due to the power cut. “Don’t the BSNL towers have any backup to sustain?” questioned another resident maintaining secrecy.
With the comment of the Senior BSNL officer of Rangat, it is clear that it’s going to take some more days for the BTS to get repaired for mobile internet, hence, the parents must think of some other alternative to currently deal with the situation. However, there is no answer yet on the power backup issue for BSNL Towers of Rangat area.
