Port Blair, Sept 23: Acting on a tip off, Mr. Shabir, Forest Guard & a few other staffs of Rangat nabbed Mr. Manojit Roy, a resident of Rampur, Middle Andaman for laying hunting traps in Reserve Forest area of Rampur & Panchawati on 21.09.2020. The case was later handed over to the Range Officer, Rangat for further action.
Later, due to active efforts and interrogation, Mrs. Lalita Tigga, Range Officer, Rangat was able to apprehend and arrest Mr. Vivekananda Biswas, another resident of Rampur, Middle Andaman who was found involved in this case and had escaped from the spot.
The accused person was caught red handed in trespassing in reserve forest area and he was in possession of hunting traps & other tools used for hunting wildlife in forest area.
The entire operation took place under overall direction and supervision of Divisional Forest Office, Middle Andaman, Mr. Satyaprakash Singh, IFS.
