Port Blair, September 22: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Port Blair said that, 20th September was an historic day for the Islands. On 20th September Modi government passed two agricultural bills.
“Both the bills will prove to be a revolutionary step in the agricultural sector,” he claimed.
Addressing a press conference in the BJP office this morning, Mr. Bairagi said that after these two bills are passed, country’s farmers will get rid of middlemen.
Now farmers will be able to access market directly and will be able to sell without any middlemen in between.
He said that both the bills are in the interest of farmers.
Thanking the Prime Minister and Union Minister of Agriculture, he said that this bill provides opportunity for farmers to do barrier free trade.
This will increase the income of farmers and with this, farmers will do agriculture using modern technology and get benefits.
He said that India is an agricultural country where 70 percent of the population depends on agriculture. If the farmers are strong then the country will be powerful. He said that the farmers of Andaman will also get the benefit of this bill.
He added that by the Bharatiya Janata Party efforts are being made so that Arecanut cultivation is also brought under crop insurance scheme for the benefit of local farmers. On this occasion BJP State Spokesperson Dr. Jijith Rekha, State President of Kisan Morcha Chittaranjan Chaudhary was present.
