Port Blair, September 20: The District Office has been off late receiving complaints regarding TR-5 challans being issued to the violators of the National Guidelines of COVID – 19 Management in compliance with District Magistrate Order No.939 dt. 31st August 2020.
The District Office in this regard hereby inform the General Public that the TR-5 being a single sheet comprises of a receipt and a counterfoil. The receipt is issued to the violator, while the counterfoil of the same is kept for records. While issuing the TR-5, no carbon copy is being used.
The District Office hereby appeals to the General Public to ensure and verify the amount mentioned on both sides of the TR-5, before making any payment to avoid any malpractice/confusion in this regard. The officials involved in this drive to collect fines from the violators are being directed to ensure that the phone nos. are mentioned and signature of the violators are also to be obtained on the counterfoil of the TR-5, before receiving the payment.
The details will be further randomly cross verified by the District Control Room for ensuring transparency in the entire process.Further to streamline the above District Administration is planning to go for contactless challan system and the process for the same has already been initiated.
