Port Blair, Sept 08: The Deputy Commissioner (SA), Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, in the presence of the Pradhan, GP Wandoor, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SA), Assistant Commissioner (UT) and community representatives yesterday laid foundation stones for 3 RURBAN projects in Wandoor Gram Panchayat which include Veterinary Sub Centre, Open-type Fish Market and Disabled Friendly Waiting Shed with toilet facility.
The DC (SA) also initiated the work under MGNREGA in the Panchayat for construction of Katcha road in Hasmatabad, which will create 1606 mandays/employment opportunity to the local community. The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the local community and explained about the COVID preparedness and the precautions to be taken by the people. All COVID-19 protocols were strictly adhered to in all the above functions.
