Port Blair, Sept 01: Yesterday afternoon a credible source informed the PS Humphrey Gunj staffs that a person namely Mr. Sarat Roy, 44 years, a private worker and a resident of Manjeri, kept wild boar meat and venison at his house.
On information immediately a team consists of HC, Bijoy Sarkar, PC Mohd Shafique, PC Sital Das, PC Ingacius Kujur, PC Shankar Aind, PC Maria, PC Jeromina Xaxa reached the house of Mr. Sarat for inquiry, where they recovered 17 KG of Wild Boar Meat and 2 KG of Venison.
The team detained the person and taken him to PS Humphrey Gunj, where the accused revealed that he purchased the meat from Mr. Gandhi, a resident of Kala Pahad.
Following this today morning, Mr. Gandhi was brought to PS Humfrigunj for further investigation where he accepted his guilt that he haunted the Wild Boar and the Deer from Kala Pahad Jungle.
For further investigation both the accused were later handed over to the Forest department for further inquiry and legal action.
