Port Blair, August 26: People of Port Blair city have been complaining that since past nearly six months new pipeline connections were not provided by the PBMC, because of which they have been facing various problems.
On this issue Andaman Sheekha contacted the Chairperson of PBMC, Mr. Udhaya Kumar. The Chairperson said that in recent past there was huge scarcity of water in South Andaman region because of which the PBMC had to manage the show by collecting water from various other water sources and hence new connections were not issued.
“There wasn’t sufficient amount of water available for the supply, but now when water level in dam has reached upto sufficient level, there has been a discussion with Secretary PBMC regarding this issue and it has been decided to issue new water connections immediately” he added.
