Port Blair August 24: Mr. M P Abdul Rasheed, is popularly known as ‘Ration Rasheed’ in Andaman because of his noble gesture of distributing free ration to needy people during initial lockdown days and also during the unlock process.
Even today, Mr. Rasheed, a resident of Haddo is working round the clock to extend a helping hand to the needy during this difficult time.
He is not only providing essentials to needy but also conducting free sanitization and disinfection drives in houses, temples, mosques, churches, streets, shops etc. of Haddo Ward No.1 area, along with the support of M/s JK Pest management system.
When COVID19 cases are on the rise in Andaman, such intrepid steps have been appreciated by all Islanders.
During the social works he is also consistently emphasizing about the need of social distancing, use of masks and other steps to fight the corona virus.
It is said that true nature of any person could be seen only during crisis and as far as Mr. Rasheed is concerned, he has emerged as a good Samaritan and extraordinarily responsible citizen. Infact he is a true ‘Andaman Hero’.
