Port Blair, Sep 24: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President or Pradesh Congress Committee, requested the Chief General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Port Blair that Havelock being a tourist spot, the Nigam must install a tower at Kalapatthar for the benefits of the local inhabitants and the tourists.
In a letter addressed to the CGM, Mr Sharma said that during his recent tour to Havelock the local inhabitants and also a few tourists have informed him that BSNL signal is not available at Kalapathar and the Broadband connections are also not working satisfactorily in these islands, for which they are facing problems of communication.
Therefore Mr Sharma requested that since the AN Administration is paying much attention to develop the tourism industry in these islands, BSNL should also join their hands with the Administration to provide atleast minimum facilities to the tourists and also to the people of Havelock.
