Port Blair, July 30: Panic gripped Chouldari Village of South Andaman today when nearly 15 people from 10 different families of the Village developed fever. Among them mostly were believed to be contacts of the first COVID19 positive patient of Chouldari Village.
After this matter was highlighted by Pradhan of Chouldari village, Mr Mohan Haldar in social media platform Twitter, and Re-twitted by dozens of other Islanders, the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman took immediate action and sent officials to Chouldari village to identify all the houses.
The people having fever have now been home quarantined and necessary stickers have been placed outside their houses. The Deputy Commissioner has however promised the Pradhan of Chouldari village that all these 15 people who have fever will be tested tomorrow.
It has been learnt that a few staffs of PHC Chouldari also developed fever a few days after the Doctor of the PHC was found COVID-19 positive. Probably their samples will also be taken very soon, the Pradhan said.
