Port Blair, July 28: It seems that information in secrets files of Secretariat leaks very fast in Andaman. During last lockdown and the present order of complete lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays, it has been seen that information is leaked to public in distorted manner, which caused panic in city.
Thousands of people today reached various petrol pumps across city to fill their tanks as rumours of complete lockdown from ‘Tomorrow’ gripped the city.
Everyone seems to be quoting highly placed insiders in Administration for this information but neither police nor CID unit had any clue about any such information till late evening.
Finally when the office order of Secretariat appeared in public domain it became clear that the lockdown is only for Saturdays and Sundays, which came as some relief for many.
The Chief Secretary Office which was working on this file must be careful in coming days as such leakages of information might trigger rampage in time like this. Today people were seen making long beeline infornt of all petrol pumps, which also caused traffic jams in many places.
