Port Blair, July 26: A 21 years old youth of Cutbert Bay has been arrested by PS Billyground under POCSO Act 2005.
A 13 year old minor girl of Middle Andaman region was reportedly raped by the 21 year old youth of same area on 23 July, the minor girl and her family on Friday evening lodged a complaint in the PS Billyground regarding the same.
On receiving the complaint, Mr. Deben Roy, SHO,PS Billyground immediately swung into action and formed a team to search the accused.
Under the leadership of SHO and close supervision of Mr. R.K.Sharma, Dy. S P, Rangat Sub division the accused was later traced out from one of his relatives’ resident from Shantipur village under GP Swadesh Nagar.
After due medical examination at PHC Billyground, the accused has been arrested under relevant section of POCSO.
