Port Blair, July 06: The General Secretary of Centre of Indian Trade Union, Mr. B Chandrachoodan has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman, and the Nicobar Islands to restore the water supply to every alternate day and put an end to the hardship faced by the denizens of the Port Blair city.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Mr. Chandrachoodan stated that since the last few days, the Islands witnessed moderate rains including the areas near the Dhanikhadi dam which might have resulted in the rise of water level in the dam.
“Untold hardship due to the water crisis has been faced by the denizens but nothing much was done by the administration to solve the issue, hence, its high time to review the situation to restore the water supply,” Mr. Chandrachoodan added.
