Port Blair, Sept 20: Master G. Chetan (student of Carmel School) and Mr. V. Thirimurthulu(Employee of Govt. Boys School) have done excellent performance and brought laurels to the Islands by winning 2 Golds and 1 Silver Medals in Kumite and Kata event in National Open Ashihara Karate Championship held at Ahmednagar, Mahrarashtra from 13th Sept,2012 to 16th Sept,2012 at Indoor Stadium.
The Championship was inaugurated by Kaicho H. Narekar, Director General of Ashihara Karate International, South Africa. The Black Belt Exams and Referee Course was conducted by the Kaicho H. Narekar(South Africa) and Mr. V. Thirimurthulu appeared and passed the Exams and Kaicho has awarded Black Belt 1st Degree(Shodan) to Shi V. Thirimurthulu. Mr. V. Thirimurthulu who has been most senior student of Ashihara Karate and State level Kumite Gold Medal winner in 1998, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Sensei Anup Chakrabarty(Advocate) is the First person of these Islands who has been awarded “SHIBUCHO” title (Shihan / Branch Chief of Ashihara Karate India) by the Director General, Kaicho H. Narekar, South frica, Ashihara Karate International, during the said Championship.
