Port Blair, June 16: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration today increased the number of convoys between Jirkatang and Middle Strait from one to two. Convoys will start from Jirkatang at 9 AM and 12 NOON, while from Middle Strait at 10 AM and 3 PM. Private vehicles will have to seek permission from the concerned District Deputy Commissioners for travel in an emergency.
As per details following vehicles will be allowed in the convoy POL/Diesel tankers; LPG trucks; Vehicles carrying essential goods/medicines; Ambulances Fire Police, Hearse vehicle, Disaster Management vehicles i
Vehicles of Tribal Welfare Department in case of emergency after taking approval of e) Secretary (TW); Vehicles of Forest & Environment Department In case of emergency after taking approval of Comm-cum-Secretary (Forest & Env); Government utility vehicles Government vehicles on duty after obtaining permission of Deputy Commissioner (SA)/Deputy Commissioner, (N & MA), as the case may be; Private vehicles in case of emergency/ exigency on case to case basis after obtaining permission of Deputy Commissioner (SA)/Deputy Commissioner (N & MA), as the case may be.
Health status of the Diver/Crew/Passengers must be undertaken before they cross into other District and they must maintain the prescribed norms of Social Distancing.
