Port Blair, June 10: Central Crime Station in its continuous effort and crackdown against illegal Narcotics in A&N Islands, has arrested one drug peddler.
Keeping its commitment of zero tolerance against illegal activities and acting on specific information received on 09/06/2020, one person namely Sekh Murtaza R/o South Point was arrested from Andaman Super Express Courier office, Junglighat by a team comprising of Inspr. D. Jagdishwar Rao, SHO PS CCS, Inspector Mohd Elias, SI Madhab Halder, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Abdul Nazar, K. Venkateshwar Rao, Constable P. K. Mondal and G. Ravi, when he came out from Andaman Super Express Courier office, Junglighat and recovered 3.88 Kgs of ganja from his possession. The recovered ganja was seized on the spot under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985. The raid was supervised by Sh. Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) under the overall supervision of Sh. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP(CID).
The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activity and keeping strict vigil over gamblers, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands. The identity of informer will be kept secret.
