Port Blair, June 04: A youth from Haryana and lone bread earner of the family working here in the Mukesh Lall Saw Mill, Humphrey Gunj, was grievously injured yesterday at 12:05 PM after a speeding car lost control and ran into him.
As per reports, the 22-23-year-old youth left for lunch from the Saw Mill yesterday noon by walk and when he reached near the Balidan Bedi, he saw a speeding car on the Humphrey Gunj road, and hence, he stopped behind a parked truck to save himself from coming in the contact of the car.
But the precaution taken by the youth turned unlucky for him because the driver of the car lost control at that exact place where he was standing. The car hit the youth badly and also collided with the truck.
According to reports, the driver of the car and a child inside the car suffered minor injuries in the accident.
The youth’s parents are in Haryana and have no one here to take care of him which has added to his suffering. However, his colleagues and the owner of the mill are taking care of the youth until now.
The youth is currently admitted to the surgical ward of the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital and his condition is learned to be very serious. “The car driver must take care of the entire expenses of the victim’s treatment and his family until he starts working again,” said the colleagues of the youth.
As per sources, the driver of the car and the child inside the car who suffered minor injuries are also admitted in the hospital. However, the action taken by the police in this regard is yet to be known.
