Port Blair, May 19: The State President, Bharatiya Janata Party- A & N Islands, Mr. Ajoy Bairagi today at about 2.55 PM telephonically called Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister for Civil Aviation, Govt. of India and enlightened about the pathetic condition of the stranded Islanders held up at different parts of several states of mainland India.
Mr. Bairagi has humbly urged the Minister to arrange special flights from atleast 6 focal states/cities in order to bring back our fellow Islanders at the earliest. He has further urged to dilute the Vande Bharat scheme and extend its benefit to the suffering Islanders. The Minister has thereafter positively assured to take all essential and possible steps for helping the stranded Islanders, at the earliest.
