Port Blair, May 17: Bharatiya Janata Party state president Mr. Ajay Bairagi has said that the Prime Minister’s self-reliant India campaign will bring more prosperity to the country than before. He said that the Prime Minister has started this campaign by giving a package of 20 lakh crore rupees.
Addressing a press conference held at the BJP state headquarters on Saturday, Mr. Bairagi said that the financial package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to be used properly and spread among the people. He said that an awareness campaign will soon be launched by the state BJP unit about the new schemes being announced by the government, through which people will be told what they will get in this financial package.
The state president said that “Vocal for Local” slogan has been given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this direction, the people will be informed about the indigenous product and the people will be asked to adopt these products by running a public awareness campaign on behalf of the party in Andaman and Nicobar Islands in this direction.
Mr. Bairagi said that Bharatiya Janata Party is the largest political party in the whole world. It works beyond mutual differences, political interest and caste-creed and will always do so. He informed that an awareness program will be organized with the help administration within the next ten days.
He said that the state unit of the party has done a very commendable job during the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. Booth level workers, including former BJP president Mr. Vishal Jolly, former MP Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, have distributed relief materials to the poor and needy. He informed that more than 15 thousand relief packets have been distributed by the party to the poor and needy. Ration distribution has been done to more than 11 hundred migrant laborers. 19 thousand masks have been distributed by Mahila Morcha.
He informed that the work of distribution of ration among the needy and poor from the party is still going on. He said that Rs 8 lakh has been given in the PM Care Fund by the party.
Mr. Bairagi said that the party is constantly trying to bring back the islanders trapped in the mainland and the outsiders trapped in Port Blair. Constant contact is being made with the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He said that the system of transporting people through ships, as planned by the administration is wrong. At this time the weather is very bad, so traveling by ship is quite difficult.
During the Press Conference, Mr. BJP State Spokesperson Dr. Jijith Rekh said that we have to bring forward our local products so that the money of our country remains in the country. He said that all the products that are in Andaman will be branded so that awareness among the people is increased and Andaman’s product can get proper place. He said that soon a booklet will be taken out from the party to create awareness among the people.
During the Press Conference, Mr. M Vinod, the Vice President of BJP, A & N State Unit said that the Andaman tourism Industry of Andaman has suffered a lot due to this pandemic. The party will be promoting the brand Andaman again so that the tourism industry can be started once again in Andaman. He said that to protect the interests of 20 thousand people related to tourism, like construction sector. He said that BJP party will do it’s best to rebuild the tourism industry in Andamans.
