Port Blair, May 13: Three fishing boats that sailed to the sea near Port Blair for fishing were pushed by the strong winds towards Little Andaman yesterday.
As per reports, all the three wooden fishing boats after getting one-time permission from the District Commissioner, South Andaman sailed for fishing yesterday morning but due to the strong winds, all the three boats were pushed onto Little Andaman by strong winds.
The boats that reached Little Andaman at around 06 PM,were sighted by the local fishermen of the Island following which the matter was informed to the Police of the region.
As the COVID-19 threat has not vanished completely, all 15 fishermen in the three boats were asked to stay in the boat itself.
According to the inputs available, all three wooden fishing boats are carrying sufficient food and water and it is learned that until and unless the weather conditions become normal, the fishing boats won’t be allowed to sail back to Port Blair.
