Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 6: Three people had a narrow escape after an Alto car reportedly fell into a creek near Agarwal Hardware shop at Dhanikhari area this morning. However, all the occupants were rescued safely by passers-by.
According to available information, the Alto car was reportedly being driven at high speed. While negotiating a turning near the spot, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into the nearby creek.
Fortunately, due to low tide at the time of the incident, the water level in the creek was comparatively low. This helped prevent a major mishap and enabled the occupants to come out of the vehicle with the assistance of people present nearby.
Sources said that three persons, including a woman and an infant, were inside the car when the accident occurred. Alert passers-by rushed to the spot and helped them out of the vehicle. All three were rescued safely.
The police were informed about the incident and a case of negligent driving has reportedly been registered in connection with the accident. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
