Mayabunder, Sept 17: North & Middle Andaman is experiencing heavy rainfall since last couple of months, which has caused heavy land sliding in different areas of the region, paralysing normal life.
At Mayabunder near Mahatma Gandhi Government College campus a land sliding caused heavy damage to the college road, recently. This virtually isolated students and Lecturers of the MGGC, who are residing inside the college campus.
Students and staffs of MGGC now fear that the lose earth may slide further and may even kill the road users.
“Hence, the DC and the Principal must take up the matter immediately with Administration and get the road repaired. The college authority must also open the alternate road for students and vehicles, which comes across the Girls Hostel till this road is repaired,” a staff of MGGC told Andaman Sheekha today.
