Port Blair, May 04: Mr. M.A Sajid, State President of National Students Union of India, A&N Islands has taken up the matter with the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands on 04/05/2020 vide letter no. NSUI/2021-21/94 regarding increasing the internet speed in the islands.
Mr. Sajid highlighted the problems faced by the college students of A&N Islands especially the students of inter islands. Mr Sajid mentioned in his letter that many colleges of mainland are conducting online classes for their students, even the colleges affiliated to Pondicherry University in mainland has started online classes for their students but the students of A&N Islands are not be able to avail such facilities because of poor internet facility in the islands and their syllabus will remain incomplete which will affect the education of students.
Mr.Sajid further wrote that it is learnt that the exams is going to be conducted in the month of July and during this 2 months gap students have a great opportunity to learn. Mr Sajid also appreciated the efforts made by the UT Administration for speeding the internet but if the work will be completed soon it will help the students to enhance education through online mode. Hence, he has requested the LG to intervene in the matter immediately and provide high speed internet in the islands at the earliest.
