Port Blair, May 03: During the evening hours about 4pm on 18.04.2020 Mr. Upender Lall residence of Humphrygunj reported over phone that his cow getting difficulty in delivery to Dr. Satish Kumar, SVO VD Manglutang. Without any delay Dr. Satish Kumar rushed his house with his own vehicle at Humphrygunj. He with veterinary compounder Mr. Kodanda Rao and Mr. Arun Karmakar tried maximum for normal delivery but due to abnormal position cesarean was performed during night hours which was successfully done and completed by 11PM and saved both cow and calf.
On 21.04.2020 a message received by Dr. Satish Kumar SVO Manglutan at 10 AM by Mr. Jeevan residence of Naya Sheher that his goat is not able to give birth. Soon after receiving message SVO along with 2 staffs Mr. kodanda Rao and Mr. Arnab Das both veterinary compounders reached the house of Mr. Jeevan and tried for the normal delivery. Later cesarean was done successfully to save the life of goat and kids.
On 27.04.2020 a telephonic call was received by Mr. Ram Bala, Pradhan gram panchayat Wandoor at 8 AM to Dr. Satish Kumar, SVO VD Manglutan that 3 nos. dogs of Mrs. M. Chandra residence of North Wandoor engulfed 6 nos. fishing hooks and all are struggling for their life, soon after getting message, SVO Manglutan along with the veterinary staffs Mr. Bhabhananda Hawaldar reached to owner’s house at North Wandoor conducted operation and successfully removed all the 6 fishing hooks from the mouth of three dogs, thus saved their life.
During the lockdown period Dr. Satish Kumar, SVO is always in touch with farmers of this area and solved many problems for their feed/milk /poultry/transportation permit with the help of their higher authorities as most of the villages are involved in animal husbandry activities. The action of AH &VS department Manglutan, Dr. Satish Kumar, SVO and staffs is highly appreciated by the people of Humphrygunj panchayat for saving the life of animals for their act of kindness towards animal husbandry farming community during the lockdown period, a release issued by Pradhan of Gram panchayat, Humphrygunj said here today.
