Port Blair, Apr 26: In order to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 in Port Blair City, PBMC has started various Innovative Initiatives to engage citizens and solicit active participation from the households during this lockdown period.
In this regard, PBMC has appealed the General Public to share Innovations on Waste to Wealth, in Situ Home Composting & Waste Processing, etc., on Twitter under Has Tag #PBMC StayHomeStaySafeChallenge.
“PBMC has received overwhelming response from general public and PBMC, SWM staff, who have been sharing ideas on social media. These initiatives such as Home Composting, Pit Composting, Converting Waste Resources into useful products viz. Waste Tyres to Tyre Garden, Plastic to PET Bottles, 20litre waste/uses Water Can to Flower Planters & Home Decorating items, Waste Paper to Toys, Egg /Coconut Shells into Flower Planter, Glass bottles into decorative Vase, etc. We appreciate the public participation, appeal general public to avoid spitting in public places and move towards Litter free city. It is the need of the hour to engage school Children to Inculcate Culture of Innovation in Waste to Wealth practices,” a release from Secretary PBMC said here today.
