Port Blair, Sept 16: The Union Minister of Shipping, Government of India today unveiled the statue of Saint Poet Thruvalluvar at Ward No. 2. Haddo, Port Blair. Smti. Firdosh Bibi, the Chairperson of PBMC welcomed the gathering. Addressing the gathering Mr. G K Vasan said that poems written by Saint Thuruvallvar in 1330 books are appreciated and honoured by the entire world.
“He said that he is really honoured to unveil the statue of Thuruvalluvar, which is donated by Thiruvalluval Narpani Mandram,” Mr. Vasan said.
Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray the Member of Parliament, Mr. Manoranjan Bhakta the former MP, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President PCC, Mr. K Ganeshan Sr. Vice Chairman, the Jr. Vice Chairperson, all senior officers of A & N Administration, SP District were present on the occasion.
