Port Blair, Apr 17: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands following the requests received from the farmers and tribal peoples, has written a letter to the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands on 17.04.2020 wherein he informed that due to lock down, the copra made by them from their field which is only their source of income for livelihood are shrinking and reducing its weight. Hence, in order to save the farmers and tribals from starvation, the Member of Parliament suggested the Lt. Governor that Agriculture department may be requested to purchase the stock of copra available with the farmers and tribal peoples at this crisis time.
