Port Blair, April 09: Several parents whose wards are studying in class ninth and eleventh of Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidhyalaya have alleged that the results declared by the school are not as per the current modification done in the guidelines following COVID-19 impact.
Parents allege that as per the CBSE advisory, CBSE affiliated schools in India and abroad must promote all the students of class 9th and 11th in the next class considering the students’ internal assignment marks, project marks, attendance and practical marks (20 marks), which according to the parents has been done only by considering the theory marks.
“To make ourselves sure, we also met the in-charge of the school following which we learned that students those who have got 27 marks out of 80 in theory only those have been declared passed, which is unlawful,” complaint a parent maintaining secrecy.
Parents whose wards are declared compartments are also in tremendous stress as everything is uncertain for them whether the exam will be re-conducted or they will get promoted or failed.
Parents also alleged that the school has failed the student who secured 0.5 marks less to pass the exam.
Many parents have raised their concern to the Zilla Parishad Adhyaksh, North and Middle Andaman, Mr. Dipankar Mistry and he has also shown his dissatisfaction against the results declared by the school.
Mr. Dipankar has assured the parents that being the member of the management committee of Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, he will urge the VKV Authority to promote all those students for one time keeping in view the present pandemic crisis.
