Port Blair, Sep 12: Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has requested the Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to consider opening of B.Ed training course in Commerce subject also either in IGNOU or in Tagore College.
In a letter addressed to the Lt Governor, Mr Sharma has stated that at Mayabunder, MGG College total 80 students are studying in B.Com where as at JNRM the number of such students are 120. In JNRM total 25 students are studying in M.Com. But till date there is no provision of B.Ed training for these students either in IGNOU or in Tagore College.
“The students of commerce group, who are interested in teaching carrier are feeling themselves hope less. Since most of these students are coming from middle or lower-middle class families, they find it very difficult to get seats at mainland based colleges because of their financial problems. Accordingly they want that a B.Ed training in Commerce subjects may be introduced here,” Mr Sharma added.
