Port Blair, March 30: The President, Island Protection Forum, Mr. MT Mustafa has requested for Boat Services for Shaheed and Swaraj Dweep so that, private workers, mostly of North and Middle Andaman, working in these Islands, may sail back to their residence.
In a letter addressed to the DCs of all the three districts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Mustafa has stated that many private workers who are engaged in tourism activities in Shaheed and Swaraj Dweep have got stuck in these Islands due to the lockdown, “They have gone out of cash and don’t have money to purchase ration items and pay rent,” Mr. Mustafa said. Mr. Mustafa finally requested the DCs that they must be provided with free ration articles as well.
