Port Blair, Sept 09: The District Level Task Force Committee(DLTFC) in Campbell bay recommended the applications of 23 candidates for financial assistance under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP). In the Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Amti Kumar Pamasi, Assistant Commissioner of Campbell bay on Friday, 23 proposals with the project cost of about 23.5 lakhs were cleared and forwarded to the concerned bank branches through the lead bank, SBI for releasing the financial assistance during the current year.
The DLTFC recommended wide range of projects such as Mobile Phone, Computer and Electronics repairing & servicing, Tailoring, Beauty Parlour, Cycle repairing, Flour Mill, Cable TV Network services, Boat repairing, Bakery, Tea & Snack Stall, Dhaba / Restaurant and Copra processing .
T.Alvi Kutty, IPO, Industries Department, Rosallya Kullu, Pradhan, Govind Nagar Panchayat, E.S.Rajesh, Pradhan, Laxmi Nagar Panchayat, , S. Kottaiswamy, Pradhan, Campbell Bay Panchayat, , Shri A.N.Kamat, Branch Manager, Syndicate Bank, Shri S.Elangovan, Manager, A&N State Co-Operative Bank, Pradip Gain, Manager , Syndicate Bank, Shri R.Karuppaiah, Deputy Manager, A&N State Co-operative Bank, Campbell Bay were the other members of the committee present during the meeting.
During the current year, the DLTFC at North & Middle and South Andaman District recommended 62 loan proposals under PMEGP and altogether 85 proposals were recommended till date under the aegis of Khadi and Village Industries Board(KVIC). (PIB)
